We support our girls and their families by providing online resources. See below to learn more!

Shelby County Schools meal distribution – Shelby County Schools is committed to making sure every student has access to healthy meals this school year. Starting September 3, families can visit their school every Thursday (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 1 – 5 p.m.) to get 7-day breakfast and lunch packs. Pre-K students will also receive snacks. Food items will be prepared in school cafeterias and safely distributed in a drive-thru pick-up line. Parents who cannot pick up on Thursdays may get their meals on Fridays (7 – 9 a.m.). Weekly meal packs will be provided to all children under the age of 18 from SCS school sites during the designated hours, including non-SCS students.

COVID-19 Emergency Rent and Utility Assistance program – Memphis and Shelby County are now accepting applications from citizens whose ability to pay rent and/or utilities have been impacted by COVID-19.

Internet Essentials from Comcast – Comcast is offering affordable high-speed internet for eligible households. And here are some updates on how they are supporting customers and communties:

  • Extending 60-days of free internet service to new internet essentials customers –As the current school year comes to an end, school districts across the country are already announcing plans for when school starts again in the fall. To help provide additional support to students and families, Comcast will continue to provide 60 days of free Internet service to new, eligible Internet Essentials customers through the end of this year. In addition, Comcast will continue to waive, through the end of the year, the requirement that customers not have a past due balance with Comcast to qualify for the free offer. Learn more here.
  • Extending free public wifi access to everyone for the remainder of 2020 – To continue to help keep people connected as the country prepares to reopen, we are extending free access to the 1.5 million public Xfinity WiFi hotspots to anyone who needs them, including non-customers, through the end of 2020. Learn more here.
  • Extending Xfinity offering to help university students stay connected as they prepare for the upcoming school year – We are continuing to help college students stay connected to the Internet over the Summer and through the Fall back-to-school rush by extending an Xfinity Internet offering that provides $150 Visa prepaid card to students who sign up for service by September 30; more than enough to pay for two months of Internet service. Learn more.

Shelby County COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund – Information on Shelby County program providing social services to families impacted by the pandemic – rent/mortgage assistance, utilities assistance and food/essentials/prescription assistance is available. Online applications are now being accepted.

Mid-South Food Bank – Information on mobile pantry food distribution with locations and times.

Baptist Centers for Good Grief – Baptist Centers for Good Grief counselors are offering free interactive sessions on Facebook Live on Monday and Wednesday at 1 p.m. focusing on topics about grief and ways to cope. On Fridays the center hosts a “Good Grief Friday Creative Challenge” encouraging people to get hands on in expressing their grief.

Welcome to Memphis – Welcome to Memphis is disseminating financial assistance to hourly workers in the hospitality industry who have been terminated or furloughed due to COVID-19.
